Our main objective for this project was to convert and repurpose the Perth High Performance Centre Executive Suite into functional office space. We also constructed new UAT (Universal Accessible Toilets) and ambulant toilet facilities on both the ground and first floor levels. These upgrades were designed to support VenuesWest’s current and future workforce needs and provide accessible, safe, and inclusive facilities for staff.
Construction Activities: The project involved demolition of specified structures, equipment, fixtures, and fittings. We performed extensive building works, including concrete works, metal works, partition walls and linings, joinery, carpentry, glazing, painting, carpeting, tiling, and ceiling works.
Services Installation: We installed and integrated new hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and fire services. A key requirement was ensuring these new systems were compatible and integrated with the existing VenuesWest building management systems, including Fire and Emergency Systems, BMCS, and Access Control.
Managing Works in an Operational Venue: Operating within a live, operational venue adjacent to public spaces required particular care. We implemented measures such as supplying and installing protective materials and barriers to protect the existing building fabric and public occupants from dust and debris. Noisy and dusty works were carefully scheduled, often requiring after-hours work agreed with the Principal, to minimise disruption to staff, patrons, and other users. We ensured safe access for occupants and patrons at all times and implemented an agreed access and traffic management plan. We also took care when moving plant, equipment, and materials to avoid excessive noise, dust, injury, or inconvenience.
